The South Beach Seafood Festival has become a staple among seafood lovers all over the city, and it’s back for its 11th anniversary. I mean, mouthwatering seafood meals right by the ocean? There isn’t a better duo.
Kick off stone crab season and celebrate top-notch culinary talent throughout Miami on Wednesday, October 18 through Saturday, October 21 at this massive four-day culinary showcase.
The festival begins with “An Evening at Joe’s Stone Crab” at Miami Beach’s famed stone crab restaurant. The five-course meal, hosted by Jack Daniels Single Barrel, showcases Executive Chef Andre Bienvenu’s cuisine paired with fine wines curated by master sommeliers.
The following day on Thursday, there’s “Crabs, Slabs & Cabs,” which takes place at the historic Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel. This year’s event has been reimagined as a formal sit-down dinner, highlighting five courses with an international take on traditional ‘Surf n’ Turf’ interpreted by five of the Magic City’s leading chefs who join the evening’s host, GOYA Foods’ Executive Chef Fernando Desa.
On Friday evening, the gloves come off as 20 of Miami’s top chefs go head-to-head in several competitive seafood rounds for the annual “Chef Showdown” in Lummus Park. In the audience, you’ll be the judge (and maybe you can pick up a few tricks of the trade to whip something up in your own home).
And here comes the news you’re waiting for: The series of nightly events builds up to the main attraction – the festival itself. It’s an all-day Saturday affair that spans four blocks on the sands of South Beach. You’ll want to save some room so that you can have a little bit of everything because in addition to the exceptional culinary offerings, the festival will showcase live music performances, engaging culinary demonstrations and interactive sponsor activations. Attendees can also sip on refreshing beverages at various bars stationed throughout the festival grounds.
Chow down on everything from stone crabs, lobster waffle cones, steak and lobster skewers, ceviche, oysters, shrimp tacos, shrimp cocktails and the rest of the ocean’s bounty! Then build an appetite by dancing to live music and partaking in interactive experience and beach games that the beachfront festival will have in store.
In past years, pop-ups included cafés from Joe’s Stone Crab, RED South Beach, The Lobster SHACK, Pubbelly Sushi, Ella’s Oyster Bar, Tacos and Tattoos, Stiltsville Fish Bar, and many more with over 70 menu items to choose from!
