Mouthwatering seafood right by the ocean? Name a better duo, we’ll wait. The South Beach Seafood Festival is a must for seafood lovers all over the city and it’s back for its 12th anniversary this week!
Kicking off during stone crab season and celebrating top-notch culinary talent throughout Miami, the four-day culinary extravaganza will run from Wednesday, October 23, to Saturday, October 26.
It’ll all begin with “An Evening at Joe’s Stone Crab” at Miami Beach’s famed restaurant on Wednesday. The five-course meal, hosted by Jack Daniels Single Barrel, will showcase exquisite cuisine paired with fine wines curated by Breakthru Beverage Florida leading presenters.
The following day, there’s “Crabs, Slabs & Cabs,” which takes place at the iconic Loews Miami Beach. This year’s event will be a formal sit-down dinner, highlighting multiple courses with an international take on traditional ‘Surf n’ Turf’ interpreted by different leading chefs who join the evening’s host, GOYA Foods’ Executive Chef Fernando Desa. Celebrity chef Robert Irvine is expected to make an appearance with a course.
On Friday evening, the gloves come off as Miami’s top chefs go head-to-head in several competitive seafood rounds for the annual “Chef Showdown” in Lummus Park. In the audience, you’ll be the judge and help decide the winner. Plus, you can pick up a few tricks of the trade to whip up something in your own home!
As for the news we’ve all been waiting for, the series of events leads to the main attraction — the festival itself. Named “Seafood Slam,” it’s an all-day Saturday affair that spans four blocks on the sands of South Beach. You’ll want to save some room so that you can have a little bit of everything because in addition to the exceptional culinary offerings, the festival will showcase live music performances, engaging culinary demonstrations and interactive sponsor activations.
Attendees can also sip on refreshing beverages at various bars stationed throughout the festival grounds.
Among the 40 vendors participating in the festival’s culmination are establishments like Lobster Shack, Pubbelly Sushi, RED South Beach, Cafe Bernie and more!
