Get a little taste of the Alps at Snowcat Ridge’s park in Dade City!
Florida’s first and only snow park, Snowcat Ridge, opened in November of last year in Dade City, FL, and it has just announced it will be making a comeback for another snowy season in the Sunshine State this November.
Yes, the drive up to Dade City is about four hours, but seeing as snow is an all-impossible phenomenon here in Florida don’t let that deter you from experiencing the cold alpine weather and go snow tubing in the heart of our tropical state!
This totally awesome snow park houses a massive snow tubing hill, a giant igloo, a dazzling alpine village, and snow much more winter fun that you won’t want to miss out on!
The giant 60-foot tall, 400-foot long snow tubing hill features single, tandem and family-style snow tubing as well as a pair of Magic Carpet conveyor lifts that will take you and your friends back up the hill in no time.
The Snowy Slopes tubing hill also features nightly music and light shows that you’ll be able to enjoy both from the slopes and Snowcat Ridge’s Alpine Village.
If you’re more of a build-a-snow-man kind of person you can always head over to the park’s Arctic Igloo. This giant snow globe features 100 square feet of real snow in which you’ll be able to frolic, make snow angels and build snowmen to your heart’s content. The igloo also features a Bunny Slope, specially designed for the park’s youngest guests.
Meanwhile, Snowcat’s Alpine Village is perfect for some aprés-ski kind of relaxation while enjoying some warm drinks and bites after an adventurous day in the snow. The village features a variety of vendors offering hot & cold beverages, beer, wine, and food as well as those selling crafts and handmade gifts all throughout the holiday season.
Plus, they also offer the chance of cozying up by a campfire and roasting some S’mores while enjoying the Snowy Slopes light show — It’ss the perfect wintery activity to finish off your day in the snow.
As a new addition this year, Snowcat Ridge is bringing on its Eskimo Outpost for anyone looking to throw a snowy party. The new attraction includes private use of a 541 square foot igloo for 2.5 hours, with up to 20 guests; a festively decorated interior with seating for up to 20 guests; exclusive access to Refreshers: Beer, Wine & Drinks located in the Eskimo Outpost; unlimited bottled water for all Eskimo Outpost guests and outdoor seating with fire pit, perfect for roasting s’mores (available for purchase at Refreshers). Tell me it’s not the perfect Christmas in Florida plan?
Tickets are already available through Snowcat Ridge’s website. General Admission tickets will grant you access to a 2-hour snow tubing session and all-day access to the Artic Igloo and the Alpine Village, while the Unlimited Snow Tubing + General Admission ticket includes unlimited snow tubing on Snowy Slopes and all-day access to the Arctic Igloo & Alpine Village until park closing.
