We’re always open to trying new foods, but adding one of our favorite condiments into a smoothie — one that often goes with our fries or hot dogs — is certainly a choice. Well, Smoothie King is teaming up with Heinz to debut a particularly bizarre new menu item: the first-ever tomato ketchup smoothie. Guess we can’t knock it ’til we try it!
What’s in it?
The two have taken the age-old argument of whether a tomato is a fruit or vegetable as a challenge, right as tomato harvest season is underway. The smoothie itself blends real açaí sorbet, crisp apple juice, juicy strawberries and tart raspberries with a touch of Heinz Simply Ketchup. So instead of tasting like ketchup, it’s actually got quite the blend of fruity flavors.
As the brands describe it, you can expect a “sweet and fruity smoothie with a bright, tangy ketchup finish.”
Where can I get one?
The new flavor is available at select Smoothie King locations throughout Miami and South Florida – see the full list of participating spots here.
Priced at $5.70 and served only in a 20 oz cup, the Tomato Ketchup Smoothie will be available for a limited time. Try it out for yourself and let us know what you think on Instagram @secretmiami_!
