With the recent passing of actor and singer Tim Curry, the world lost an icon who turned a fiercely unapologetic mad scientist into a global phenomenon. But if there’s anything Frank-N-Furter taught us, it’s that you don’t mourn a legend in silence — you put on your fishnets and give yourself over to “absolute pleasure”!
On Friday, October 2, Miami fans will have the perfect opportunity to celebrate Curry’s legacy. Pinecrest Gardens is bringing The Rocky Horror Picture Show back to the Banyan Bowl for a night under the stars, presented in partnership with City Theatre Miami.
Following last year’s 50th-anniversary bash, this screening carries a deeper weight as South Florida pays tribute to the man who fueled the longest-running theatrical release in movie history.
Live casts and a costume contest

This is Rocky Horror after all, so don’t expect to find an average screening. A live shadow cast will perform alongside the film, meaning every raucous call-back and pelvic thrust will be brought to life in real time. For those looking to elevate their evening, the VIP Cocktail Experience includes a pre-show meet-and-greet with the shadow cast, a signature drink, popcorn and preferred seating in the amphitheater.
Whether you’re doing general admission or VIP, you’ll also want to dress to impress! The Costume Contest will return with cash prizes for the best-dressed creatures of the night ($100 for first place, $75 for second and $50 for third).
