Antoni Porowski, food and wine extraordinaire, has arrived to help us cook our way through the quarantine!

Social distancing may be stopping us from enjoying our favorite restaurants but it ain’t stopping us bringing our inner chef out and Queer Eye’s food and wine expert, Antoni Porowski is here to help us achieve that!

Last Tuesday Porowski announced via Instagram he’d be starting daily cooking lessons so that those of us stuck at home can make the most out of our kitchen time during the quarantine. Porowski’ series, Quar Eye: Cooking Lessons in Quarantine, feature easy yet delicious recipes that will help keep our hearts happy and our bellies full all through the lockdown!

Inspired by his personal experience of going grocery shopping in times of the coronavirus, the chef put together cooking lessons that help his followers take advantage of those ingredients they’re still able to find at grocery stores. “We’re stuck at home so we might as well still be able to prepare good food, that’s good for us and makes us feel good,” said the chef on his first Quar Eye episode.

Previously on Quar Eye, Porowski has taught his followers how to make a “Keep Calm-lette” the isolation omelet version of huevos rancheros made with a black-bean salsa, “Zoodles Meat S.O.S” basically zucchini noodles with a yummy meat sauce, a “Sequestered Salmon Squash” just regular salmon and squash for when you’re not allowed to go outside and “Stripped of My Sanity Chicken Strips” Porowski’s quarantine version of chicken tenders. Porowski uploads a new episode each day, so make sure to keep up with his latest recipe by following him on Instagram!

Antoni’s Quar Eye cooking lessons are perfect for when you don’t know how to mash up the few disparate things you found in your fridge or supermarket. And if your local grocery store doesn’t have the same ingredients Porowski’s using, don’t worry! Take it as a chance to improvise, I’m sure our beloved food and wine extraordinaire would totally approve of your version of his quarantine meals!
