The future of women’s golf is looking incredibly bright and more high-tech! The LPGA and TMRW Sports (backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy) have announced the formation of the WTGL, a women’s edition of the tech-infused indoor golf league. Following the success of the fairly new men’s TGL league — blending live golf with a virtual indoor simulated experience — the inaugural women’s season is scheduled for the winter of 2026-27.
This means that some of the world’s best female golfers are set to compete in fast-paced, team match play from the custom-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
What to expect
The WTGL will mirror the original TGL format, focusing on a modern, media-first presentation of traditional golf. There will be mic’d up moments among players, rich shot performance data and statistics-based analytics built into the competition.
For those unfamiliar, you can get an idea of what the stadium looks like during competition below:
“I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences while showcasing both athlete personality and performance, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game,” said LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler in a release. “It creates another global stage for our athletes—one that helps fans connect more deeply with them and continues to elevate the visibility and growth of women’s golf.”
The decision follows the success of TGL Season 1, which attracted one of the youngest audiences in sports (median age 52), second only to the NBA in the 18-49 demographic. Season 2 is underway, and you can find upcoming matches and tickets at TGLGolf.com.
While we await the debut of the women’s league, details on specific teams, players and more will be announced in the coming months.
