There’s no shortage of brunch spots here in Miami, but when we heard a beloved restaurant was introducing a new brunch — not only a boozy one, but on the water too — we knew we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spread the word!
For the first time since opening in 1969, Monty’s Raw Bar has launched a weekend brunch. Every Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., they’ll serve up breakfast classics with a tropical twist and $5 mimosas.
While the tiki bars of the Florida Keys may be far off, this Coconut Grove spot is a local escape, offering up the closest thing to the string of tropical islands without boarding the Overseas Highway. Throw in some charming seaside views and live music while you dine and there’s only one answer to where you’ll be spending your weekend.
Among the dishes on offer for the brunch are the Caribbean French Toast, served with whipped ricotta cheese and guava glaze; Monte Cristo Sandwich with slow-cooked and roasted pork; Chicken and Waffles topped with powdered sugar and hot honey bourbon syrup; and Avocado Toast with smoked salmon.
To wash down the food, choose from cocktails like Bloody Marys and Spanglish Micheladas. There’s also a new specialty cocktail, named the Brunch Punch, spiked with Ketel One vodka, fresh guava and pineapple juice, prosecco and lemon/lime soda.
But remember to save room for dessert because Monty’s signature Key Lime Pie will also be available!
Locals and families are invited to create new memories and relive the past at this historic landmark. Plus, the little ones can enjoy free face painting while mom and dad can kick back and enjoy the scenic sights.
In addition to the new brunch, Monty’s is giving a nod to their opening year and debuting a Throwback Thursday Happy Hour on the first Thursday of every month. From 4 to 7 p.m., visitors will be able to enjoy select seafood for 69 cents. Fresh oysters, clams and shrimp will be available by the piece for under a dollar; and there will be $7 frozen cocktails including an ice-cold Miami Vice and their signature Rum Runner, $8 Pain Removers, $6 glasses of wine and $4 to $5 beers.
