The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are facing off in the Eastern Conference Finals tonight, but this isn’t the only matchup we’re keeping our eyes on.
Now through the playoff run, South Florida’s beloved Mojo Donuts and Kane’s Donuts over in Boston are placing a sweet wager on the NBA teams by putting their finest donuts on the line.
The losing city’s store has to ship its most popular donuts to the winning shop and take a photo with the opposing team’s jerseys, all while having to bake their own donuts (oh boy, Boston sure looks good in Heat jerseys).
To literally taste the victory, Kane’s will have to send a dozen of their famous homemade donuts to Mojo Donuts in Miami if the Heat win. If the Celtics are victorious, Mojo must send a dozen of their best selling donuts.
Friendly trash-talking will also take place between the two donut shops over on Instagram (@kanes_donuts & @mojodonuts), Facebook and Twitter. If you want to get in on the donut fun, social media users are encouraged to weigh in!
The Heat are set to take on the Celtics for the second straight year in the ECF, and the third time in the last four years. And this time, the Heat are coming in as the No. 8 seed. The only other time an 8-seed team reached the finals was in 1999 with the New York Knicks.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics takes place tonight, May 17, at 8:30 p.m. ET. Go Heat!
