If you’re a lover of baseball and ballpark bites, then batter up! Multiple teams across Major League Baseball are rolling out new, over-the-top concessions for the season and the Miami Marlins are no exception. From footlong corn dogs to a ferry boat filled with fish and chips, fans can chow down on some of the most unique eats.
In Miami, loanDepot Park and Levy Restaurants are introducing a two-foot (yes, you’re reading that right) “Machete” inspired by Mexico City street food. This isn’t the first time the city makes waves with a menu item, having previously served a 34-inch, 2.5-pound Cuban sandwich during games.
The meal features a flour tortilla that measures exactly two feet long, with melted mozzarella, Oaxaca cheese, house-marinated carne asada, guajillo pepper sauce, salsa verde and cilantro. And ensuring you make it back to your seat without a hassle, the Machete comes with its very own carrying case!
Other over-the-top eats across the league
Of course, the Marlins aren’t the only team knocking it out of the park on their menus. Some of the quirkiest food creations to expect this season include the Oreo Brownie Milkshake by the Tampa Bay Rays, crispy Chicken & Churros by the Chicago Cubs, the totally stacked DC Monument Chicken Tower (inspired by the landmark) by the Washington Nationals, Schwarbomb Sundae by the Philadelphia Phillies and the Heavy Hitter Dog by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
