The Miami Heat are not only battling it out on the court during their NBA Finals run — they’re serving as sweet inspiration for many local shops. In celebration of how far the team has come, restaurants around the city are getting in on the action by putting out special items on their menus. From red cookies with white chocolate chips reminiscent of the Heat’s colors to spicy cocktails bringing the “hot” to White Hot, take your love for basketball up a notch with the following treats and cocktail offerings on game days. Check them out:
1. Night Owl Cookies
Only offered on game days, Night Owl’s Let’s Go Heat cookie is perfect for a watch party. It’s a mix of signature red dough and white chocolate chips, then topped with finely crushed Oreos and a dollop of marshmallow fluff. Oh, and it’s finished with a whole Oreo on top!
2. The Salty Donut
The Salty is cheering for its home team with a specialty donut named El Heat. The tasty treat is made with 24 hr brioche dipped in strawberry and vanilla marbled glaze, bottom crusted with dark chocolate and cocoa cookie crumble, and finished with chocolate drizzle and gold luster dust. Also offered on game days, the donut is available only at the South Miami, Wynwood and West Palm Beach shops.
3. Azucar Ice Cream
Beat the heat (and celebrate the Heat) with Azucar Ice Cream’s latest flavor, White Hot Heat! First reported by the Miami New Times, the sweet yet spicy treat debuted this year and features vanilla ice cream drizzled with pulverized Red Hots candy. You can find it at Azucar’s Little Havana and Pinecrest locations.
4. Lokal and Kush Clevelander
There’s Heat fever all year-round at Lokal Coconut Grove, as well as Kush at Clevelander South Beach, where you can show your support for the team by getting your hands on a Miami Heat burger. The mouthwatering patty is topped with Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, grilled onions, spicy mayo and sriracha.
5. RED South Beach
