A massive brush fire that broke out Thursday morning at a warehouse in northwest Miami-Dade continues to rage, prompting an emergency response and air quality alerts for surrounding neighborhoods.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, over 200 firefighters are currently on the scene battling the blaze at Global Warehouse Solutions near Miami Gardens (20600 NW 47th Avenue). It quickly escalated into a five-alarm fire, which is the most severe.
Officials noted that the building is almost twice the size of a Costco, housing thousands of varied items that created a heavy field load for the flames. However, despite the damage to the facility, no injuries have been reported. All workers were safely evacuated when the first alarms sounded.

As thick plumes of black smoke are seen from multiple areas due to the fire, emergency management officials have issued an air quality alert for a 5-mile radius around the warehouse.
“Residents, especially those with respiratory conditions, older adults, and young children, are advised to shelter in place, if possible. Stay indoors, close windows and doors, and set your A/C to recirculate,” a post by the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reads.
Road Closures
Due to the fire, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has shut down NW 47th Avenue between NW 199th Street and NW 215th Street.
Miramar Police have also blocked the southbound lanes of Palm Avenue leading into Miami-Dade County. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area entirely and seek alternate routes, as closures are expected to last through Thursday night and into Friday.
As firefighters work on extinguishing the fire, those in the area and surrounding neighborhoods are being urged to stay informed on the latest developments and follow all safety advisories issued by local authorities.
