Say hello to Margot Natural Wine Bar, Downtown Miami’s newest spot for wine lovers!
Following the immense success of its Nikki Beach pop-up, Margot Natural Wine Bar fans will be glad to know that the bar has finally opened its first brick and mortar spot in the heart of Downtown. The wine bar, which is named after Hemingway’s feminist fashion model granddaughter, offers a cozy and intimate spot in which to unwine and enjoy some of the best natural wines.
“What is a natural wine?” some of you may be wondering…Well, natural wines are just those which have been produced by fermenting grape juice with out any addditives (think tannins, sulfits, acid and other stabilizing agents) or the use of pesticides. In fact, wine producers have been making natural wine for centuries and you may also heard them referred to as “”naked,” “raw,” or “low-intervention” wines.
Founded by the creators of Bar Lab Gabe Orta and Elad Zvi, Margot is entirely dedicated to natural and biodynamic wines offering one of the city’s most extensive natural wine lists. Featuring more than 80 options, the list changes on a weekly basis featuring excluse and special-edition releases.
On its menu, you’ll find endless options all the way from sparkling zinfandels and pet-nats (aka naturally sparkling wines) to German, Slavic and Spanish whites and Austrian, Italian and French reds. They also have a wide range of orange wine also known as “skin-contact” wines for the way in which they are produced which involves not removing the skin from white wine grapes.
Some of Margot’s wines can be enjoy by the glass although most are meant to be enjoyed fresh upon opening and the price per bottle can vary from $45 to $120 depending on the wine. The bar also offers low-alcohol cocktail options as well as daily wine flight selections ($30) with which you’ll get to taste three different wines from around the world.
Of course, the perfect glass of wine could not go without with the perfect marriage of food and drink, and so Margot also offers a selection of small plates created by Chef Jimmy Levron from 27 Restaurant & Bar. The food menu offers a few globally inpsired bites such as tiraditos, fondue, crudos and charcuterie boards all between $6 and $16.
Margot Natural Wine Bar opened at the historic Ingraham building on Wednesday, July 7, and is now open Wednesdays through Sundays from 5 p.m. to midnight. Online reservations will soon launch on their website but walk-ins are still welcome!
