From the moment we arrived at Gulfstream Park, it was clear we weren’t in for just a show: what we found was a true celebration of Mexican culture. An enchanting performance in two acts
LUZIA is split into two parts by a 25-minute intermission about an hour into the performance, allowing you to grab a drink or snack from the concessions inside the Big Top. But trust us when we say we barely saw the time pass by. Every chapter of the show felt unique, fresh, keeping us on our toes.
While on stage, the storyline took us from an old movie set to a lush rain-filled jungle, it still felt cohesive and absolutely breathtaking to witness. Some characters — like the nameless traveler — remain through the show, tying it all together. Our Secret Miami videographer described the whole performance as awe-inspiring, so you know you’re in for a treat.
Why you should experience LUZIA for yourself
What makes LUZIA so unique is its jaw-dropping contortionists and acrobats, but not only: it also literally rains on stage, since LUZIA is the first Cirque du Soleil touring show to use water throughout the entire duration of the performance (2,500 gallons to be exact!)
The “running woman” with a massive monarch butterfly or the incredible hoop divers are also in a league of their own — a true testament to the talent of the Cirque du Soleil cast. So if you have the chance to go, we highly recommend the vibrant celebration that is LUZIA!
