A taste of France by way of New York? Sounds parfait.
French brasserie La Grande Boucherie just opened in Miami Beach’s luxe South of Fifth neighborhood — and it looks worth a visit just for its ambiance alone.
The restaurant first opened in 2020 in New York, and actually holds the title of NYC’s biggest restaurant. Of course the original location is surrounded by buildings and sidewalks, but restauranteurs behind it, The Group Hospitality, are making the most of Southern Florida weather with lush outdoor spaces and a “garden-inspired twist” at the brand new outpost.

Atmosphere and design
La Grande Boucherie and other Boucherie locations have been inspired by 20th-century Paris and evoke a timeless Parisian brasserie, but this Miami location takes it up a notch with its homage to the Art Deco period, drawing from its historic 1938 building designed by architect Henry Hohauser. In fact, the restaurant design from Legeard Studio and Emil Stefkov was influenced by designer and philanthropist Paul Poiret’s beloved 1920 Oasis Party with opulent decor and dramatic details.
Most notably is the eye-catching entrance, as the entire front of the building is filled with bistro tables, florals, and lots of greenery. The interior has moody red custom wallpaper, an ornate bar, cozy velvet seating and gold accents and lighting.

“We are thrilled to bring La Grande Boucherie to Miami’s South of Fifth neighborhood, offering a unique fusion of an indulgent steakhouse with the timeless charm of a refined Parisian brasserie,” said Emil Stefkov, founder of The Group Hospitality.
“This new venture marks a significant milestone for The Group Hospitality as we step into the Magic City, known for its vibrant culture and world-class gastronomy. We look forward to introducing this one-of-a-kind dining experience housed within a reimagined, historic, art deco building where guests will be transported to the Golden Age of Paris—an era where art, fashion, and culture converged in a spectacular celebration of life.”

The menu
And of course, a restaurant is nothing without its food. The Boucherie kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Leonardo Pablo, who most recently directed The UPLAND Miami, as well as culinary operations at W South Beach and Esmé Hotel.

The food menu mimics dishes at other Boucherie locations with elevated French classics like:
- Filet de Bœuf and Filet Mignon Au Poivre
- Grass-feed ribeye Entrecôte Grillée
- Large-formats like Chateaubriand pour Deux and Plateau du Boucher
- In-house dry-aged and wagyu meat
There will also be a raw bar, and a special seafood menu only available at Boucherie’s Miami location taking advantage of the local fresh catches. This includes Loup De Mer (grilled branzino), Langoustine Géante (grilled U2 Prawns), Stone Crab and Maine Lobster.

For beverages, along with La Grand Boucherie’s classic cocktail menu and some added tropical treats, of course there’s plenty of wine. Besides a generally extensive wine list, the menu will feature lesser-known grape varieties like tannat, mondeuse, and picpou as well as organic wine selections.
Visting
The restaurant already has many positive reviews, with diners noting the “magnificent, elegant” space as well as delicious and fresh dishes, with the filet mignon, stone crab, and Niçoise salad appearing to be the favorites.
