Add this one to your waterfront dining checklist Miamians!
A brand new waterfront destination has just opened in Bayside Marketplace and it looks totally incredible. Located on a dazzling second-floor patio overlooking Biscayne Bay, chef Michelle Bernstein’s brand new restaurant La Cañita offers mouthwatering seafood options with crystalline blue waters on the side!
La Cañita (meaning little sugarcane) offers an exciting take on rum culture from its walls to the menu. Designed to resemble a Caribbean rum distillery, The restaurant’s design features plenty of industrial, copper, and woods accents, while still playing with its tropical image, by including pastel hues, cement finishing touches, and, of course, some stellar waterfront views.
Bernstein’s exquisite menu brings together bold Caribbean and pan-Latin flavors with Bernstein’s own take on seafood dishes from Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Puerto Rico with influences from Central and South America. On it, you’ll find an assortment of sandwiches and other Cuban plates such as the arroz con pollo as well as conch fritters, jerk-kissed chicken wings, snapper filet, and her hallmark empanadas featuring three new flavors including picadillo, creamed spinach with mozzarella and chicken fricassee with creamed corn.
To wash it all down you simply cannot miss out on La Cañita’s wonderful cocktail menu, which includes a slew of craft cocktails including five different kinds of mojitos, the perfect selection for a restaurant that celebrates rum and Caribbean culture!
La Cañita is now open at Bayside Market from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. For more information and reservations make sure to check out their website here!
