Known for their legendary cinnamon rolls, strawberry milkshakes and notoriously long lines, Knaus Berry Farm is saying goodbye to its original location after 69 years, as shared in an Instagram post Friday.
But don’t fret — they’re set to reopen just down the road! They’ll be moving from 15980 SW 248th Street, which they’ve been at since 1956, to 16790 SW 177th Avenue.
Along with the surprising news, the Knaus family shared that it will be reopening under new ownership.
“The Knaus family is beyond grateful for all the years of loyal support from the community of South Florida and beyond! We will miss the familiar faces and similar stories of previous generations that frequented our store,” the post reads. “The tradition will continue in capable new hands! We look forward to generations more enjoying the simple pleasures that made Knaus Berry Farm a popular destination for so many.”
So… what does this mean for the recipes we all know and love?

What to expect at the new Knaus Berry Farm
Fans of the bakery need not fear as it reopens in the late fall — changing things up by accepting credit cards and opening on Sundays for the first time. The new property, belonging to Sam S. Accursio & Sons Farms, will also offer more capacity, ample parking spaces and an additional oven to help with long wait times. U-Pick strawberries are also set to make their return for the season.
The Knaus family will stay on as consultants, with longtime General Manager Thomas Blocher serving as kitchen consultant, ensuring that the goods match the quality customers have enjoyed for decades. Existing staff are also being retained.

It’s everything we know and love about Knaus Berry Farm, just on the other side of the road!
Joel White, who will now serve as general manager, said they are committed to preserving the farm’s longstanding tradition.
“We are looking forward to carrying on the tradition the Knaus family has built with fresh handmade cinnamon buns, milkshakes, and produce. We will be using the same recipes, bakery equipment, and techniques,” he said. “Even the water will have the same pH to ensure the product is delivered to our customers just as they know and love.”

More details will be announced in the coming months, including an exact opening date. You can follow along by visiting their Instagram.
