Take a look at Jia, South of Fifth’s sparkling new supper club.
A new supper club has sprung up in Miami Beach! South of Fifth’s latest restaurant, Jia Chinese Dinner Club & Lounge has brought major edgy vibes and modern Cantonese-style Chinese cuisine to the up-and-coming neighborhood.
A new concept by restaurateur Ken Ray and his partner Jason Cloth, Jia’s Chinese-American dinner club is the first to bring upscale Chinese dining to the area with award-winning chef Weng Choon “William” Lai at the helm.
Having led multiple prestigious restaurants in Beijing, Thailand, Cambodia, and Macau, including the Michelin guide-listed Pak Loh Chiu Chow restaurant in Macau, Chef Lai brings his expertise on Modern Cantonese Cuisine to Jia’s table for a unique and upscale dining experience.
The supper club’s menu offers a contemporary take on authentic Cantonese-style Chinese cuisine, featuring signature dishes including Lai’s take on the traditional Char Siew, a honey-roasted pork dish featuring white wine in substitution for the standard Chinese rice wine.
The restaurant’s specialty late-night menu is available Thursday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. and features a selection of innovative bites including edamame dumplings, crispy honey garlic chicken, prawn Siew Mai and more.
To compliment Lai’s upscale cuisine, Jia enlisted Miami’s favorite mixologist Michael Parish (Broken Shaker, Sweet Liberty Drinks & Supply Co.) to create a carefully crafted cocktail menu. Highlights include the fragrant “Jungle Bird,” a combination of baijiu, mezcal, grilled pineapple, fresh lime juice, and a house-made strawberry-infused aperitivo. Jia also offers a tableside cocktail service and an extensive Champagne pairing, available by the glass or bottle.
Jia’s new supper club combines the best of South Beach dining and nightlife experiences in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment with an edgy touch. The 2,500-square-foot space’s vibrant Chinese, Art Deco and Tropical touches make for an upscale yet high-energy atmosphere featuring rafia upholstery, distressed wood accents and a colorful custom mural by Miami-based tattoo artists Ami James and Morgan Pennypacker.
The restaurant also features a sumptuous bar presiding over the main dining room that seats up to 12 people as well as a breezy patio for outdoor dining. A private dining lounge located at the back of the club seats up to 25 guests and offers a space for exclusive dinner parties and elevated entertainment scheduling including Karaoke Night which will soon roll out as one of the venue’s weekly evening programs.
Live music will also be a huge component of Jia’s overall dinner club element, with nightly music activations and programming created by L.A.-based artist advisor Hayes Bradley.
Jia Chinese Dinner Club & Lounge is now open at SoFi Mondays through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Thursdays through Saturdays from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
