Memorial Day Weekend is coming up, and we’re getting ready for the city’s annual showcase of precision, power and patriotism. Nicknamed the “Greatest Show Above Earth,” the Hyundai Air & Sea Show returns to Miami Beach on May 23 and 24, dazzling locals and visitors alike!
The two-day spectacle features fighter jets in tightly choreographed formations overhead, along with offshore powerboats and tactical demonstrations along the Atlantic. This year is extra special, as it serves as a kickoff celebration for America’s 250th anniversary, bringing an added layer of national pride to Memorial Day.

So grab a spot along the shoreline and look up for a show-stopping tradition headlined by the precision flying of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, alongside other aerial demonstrations and thrilling powerboat races!
On the ground action
In addition to the flights, there’s no shortage of engaging activities for the whole family. Be sure to check out the five-block Patriot Display Village, which includes:
- Interactive military equipment displays (helicopters, tactical gear, simulators)
- An Action Zone with extreme sports demos
- The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Kids Zone
- Delicious eats at the Mission BBQ food court

The fun continues into the evening of May 23 with Music Explosion. Beginning at 8 p.m., head to Ocean Drive for live entertainment featuring Parmalee, the country hitmakers behind four No. 1 Billboard singles including “Carolina,” “Just the Way,” “Take My Name” and “Gonna Love You.”
And beginning at sunset, the Art Deco buildings at 14th Street and Ocean Drive will illuminate with a patriotic 3D Mapping Projection, followed by a nighttime pyro parachute jump over Ocean Drive by the U.S. Army Golden Knights.
Where to catch the action
Since the main event takes place in the sky and on the water, you can’t go wrong with any spot on the sand — and admission is completely free for all beachgoers! The action runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Beyond the aerial displays, the central action station is located at Lummus Park on the sands of Ocean Drive between 11th and 14th Street.
Other prime locations for catching the sights and sounds of the Air & Sea Show from a rooftop include The Betsy and Elser Hotel & Residences. And if you can’t make it the sand, a live broadcast of the event will be available starting at noon on both days on their website.
