A rematch has been set! The Florida Panthers have landed back in the Stanley Cup Final for the third straight year and they’re facing a very familiar rival: the Edmonton Oilers.
The last time the two battled it out for the championship was just one year ago. The Panthers won the series in seven games and claimed their first Cup in franchise history. It was a thrilling back-and-forth affair in many ways, with the Oilers forcing a Game 7 after the Panthers took a 3-0 lead.
This year’s matchup is the first time two teams meet in consecutive finals since the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins did it in 2008 and 2009. The best-of-seven Final pitting the Panthers against the Oilers this year begins on Wednesday, June 4. Read on for everything you need to know.
