If you’re planning to pop the question anytime soon, turns out you don’t need a sunset helicopter ride over Key Biscayne or a candlelit dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant… the modern Florida man has a completely different vibe in mind.
With the rising cost of living, many are swapping expensive dinners for more accessible ways to get down on one knee. And for some, that just might mean proposing over fries and a fountain drink. A new survey of over 3,000 men by ACE.com has revealed that Chick-fil-A is the No. 1 fast-food chain in Florida to ask for a hand in marriage, due to its polite service and low-pressure atmosphere.
We’re not exactly endorsing the idea, but if you’re going through with a proposal just make sure not to plan it on a Sunday!
What are the top fast food chains for proposals in Florida?
According to the poll, 69% of Florida men think the location of a proposal makes or breaks the “yes.” And over 1 in 3 men admit that the astronomical cost of a fancy dinner makes them much more likely to consider the drive-thru.
Here’s how they ranked their top fast-food proposal destinations, because nothing says eternal devotion like a 4- for $4 meal:
- Chick-fil-A
- Burger King
- Wendy’s
- Pizza Hut
- Taco Bell
- Dairy Queen
- McDonald’s
- Sonic Drive-In
- Popeyes
- Subway
As if that wasn’t enough, ACE.com rounded out the survey by asking 100 women how they would react to a fast-food proposal. Surprisingly, 49% said it would be “funny but memorable,” and 24% would find it genuinely romantic. Meanwhile, 22% found it unromantic, and just 4% viewed it as “desperate.”
“It’s less about spending big and more about choosing a setting where both people feel comfortable. In many cases, that actually improves the odds. A relaxed environment can take the pressure off and make the moment feel more genuine – something that ultimately gives you a better chance of hearing ‘yes,'” a news release by ACE.com reads.
