Matteson Koche’s fuss-free bagel shop, El Bagel, has finally settled down in MiMo District.
If you’re a bagel connoisseur and lover then you’ve probably braved the elements lining up outside Matteson Koche’s food truck to get your grubs on one of his delicious, hand-rolled bagels. Since it opened back in 2016, El Bagel has gained wide acclaim among Miamians for its uncomplicated and preservative-free bagels. Now, much to its loyal fans’ relief, Miami’s most sought-after bagel shop has finally parked its wheels (for the moment at least) and opened the doors to its new store on Biscayne Boulevard.

El Bagel opened yesterday morning quietly and without much fuss, but it didn’t go unnoticed by the hoards of bagel-adoring fans who kept up with their old ways of lining up for El Bagel’s goods, this time they just lined up outside the shop.

At El Bagel they’re staying faithful to their origins, so you know you’ll find all your favorites at their store. Menu options range from the traditional bacon, egg and cheese ($10) and Lox Supreme ($12) to the edgier Avo Spesh ($8.5) featuring smashed avocado and English cucumber, and El Bagle Original ($8) with scallion cream cheese, roasted jalapeños and thick-cut bacon.

Or if you so wish you can also get a dozen uncut bagels for $22.
