
Happy Earth Day, Miami! This global celebration is meant to raise awareness about human impacts on the environment and all the ways we can do our part to protect Mother Nature. From getting your hands dirty by participating in a clean-up to a free tree giveaway, we’ve put together a list of the incredible events taking place in the city this Tuesday, April 22nd. Show some much-needed love and recognition to our precious planet:
1. 1 Hotel South Beach celebrations
Throughout April, Miami’s premier oceanfront sustainable hotel welcomes locals and guests to experience a lineup of eco-conscious events. From beachside grounding rituals to upcycled art workshops, the hotel’s programming offers meaningful ways to give back and reconnect with nature while enjoying their stay. The following Earth Month happenings at the 1 Hotel include:
- April 22 from 6:45 to 8 p.m.: Earth Day Sunset Experience led by Sabrina of Kanekshun.
- April 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Earth Month Upcycled Collage Making with Miami-based collage artist Katy Hirschfeld of Collage Garage.
- April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.: Future Fashion Concepts by Annette & Daniela Felder
- April 26 from 8 to 11 a.m.: On Running Earth Month Run along the boardwalk.
- All month: Sapphiros Bay exclusive cocktail (Bombay Sapphire Gin, St. Germain, coconut & spirulina syrup, lime) available at Tala Beach, Drift, AVIV and Watr.

2. Smorgasburg Earth Fest
In honor of Earth Day, Smorgasburg Miami is set to host its third annual Earth Fest! Happening on April 26 and 27, from noon to 8 p.m., the event brings together plant-based eats with local produce and sustainable shopping. In addition to its signature lineup of vendors, the Wynwood market will welcome weekend-only vendors offering plants, herbs, organic honey, natural soaps, sustainable fashion, vintage goods and more. Visitors can also expect live music, free workout and yoga classes, live portrait painting and a hands-on community garden experience.

3. Fourth annual Beach Day Cleanup
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than by helping keep our beaches healthy? On April 22nd, Clean Miami Beach is teaming up with AE Global and rePurpose Global for the annual Beach Day Cleanup. The all-ages event will take place near 10th Street at 5:30 p.m. A turtle flag will mark the meeting point, where cleanup supplies like gloves, buckets, bags and pickers will be provided. Attendees are also encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, bring reusable water bottles and wear reef-safe sunscreen and a hat.

4. Viva Abejas (Long Live Bees) at Toro Toro
In celebration of our connection to Earth and showcase the importance of the world’s pollinators (aka bees), renowned Chef Richard Sandoval has created Viva Abejas, an annual multi-sensory plant-based culinary experience at Toro Toro. Incorporating bee-centric ingredients to dishes like Coconut Tuna Ceviche, Charred Avocado Salad, Braised Short Ribs and Honey Cheesecake, the Viva Abejas campaign is running now through Earth Day, April 22.

5. Karaoke with a Cause at The Dead Flamingo
On April 22nd, the Little Havana pop-up bar invites guests to sing their hearts out for a good cause with this Earth Day edition of Karaoke with a Cause! They’ll feature cocktails crafted with Mijenta Tequila and Truman Vodka, highlighting locally-sourced ingredients and low-waste practices. Even better, a portion of the proceeds from each cocktail will be donated to Miami Waterkeeper, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting South Florida’s waters and educating the community! Guests can also enter to win tickets to Fairchild Tropical Garden and the first 25 karaoke singers will receive a complimentary welcome cocktail and an adorable Seed Starter Kit to take home.

6. Miami Beach Arbor Day Ceremony & Tree Giveaway
Who wouldn’t love a free tree? Head to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for an Arbor Day Ceremony & Tree Giveaway on Friday, April 25, where you can take home one of 40 trees! Beginning at 10 a.m., residents are encouraged to provide proof of Miami Beach residency and arrive early as it is first come, first served. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about tree care from Miami Beach’s Urban Forestry team. Register for the giveaway here.

7. Earth Day at Miami Children’s Museum
A day of creativity and care for the Earth awaits at Miami Children’s Museum this year. On April 22nd, visitors can enjoy interactive activities designed to promote sustainability and connect with the natural world, with highlights such as a ladybug release, plant adoption, yoga on the lawn, floral crown making, a smoothie bar and an upcycled fashion workshop. Additional activities include pot decorating, a bouquet station and a vegan ice cream treat.

8. Joia Beach Earth Day cocktail
Available through April 22, Joia Beach has introduced a new cocktail — the Earthbound Explorer — with 20% of the proceeds going to the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. Made with The Lost Explorer Espadin Mezcal, Luxardo Del Santo, Maraschino and lime juice, the drink doesn’t just taste good, but it honors a good cause!

9. North Beach Compost Hub Pick Up & Workshop
On Saturday, April 26, join agronomist Mynor Rayo for a hands-on experience planting raised beds. Learn how to prepare soil, incorporate rich compost and plant flowers and edible plants. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to noon and guests are asked to bring a gallon-size container to collect compost for home use.
