Starting Friday, July 30, Walt Disney World will require all guests to wear masks indoors regardless of their vaccination status.
Parkgoers who want to visit Walt Disney World this summer will now have to wear masks indoors regardless of their vaccination status. Visitors who are two years old or younger are exempt from this rule.
The company has been keeping its safety policies up to date with the latest national mandates since the start of the pandemic and has recently updated its regulations to require all visitors to wear masks indoors starting on Friday, July 30. These apply to all domestic Disney theme parks both in Florida and California.
“Beginning July 30, face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas” reads the website.
Up until recently, masks were completely optional in most park areas for guests who had been fully vaccinated. However, with the recent spike in COVID cases across the country, the company has decided to backtrack on its mask regulations.
Earlier this week, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced it was also backtracking on its mask mandate and is now recommending that fully vaccinated people begin wearing masks indoors once again in places with high Covid transmission rates such as the state of Florida.
In addition to its new face-coverings regulations, Disney has announced that as national trends and guidances continue to develop, that certain Walt Disney World amenities parks attractions, experiences (such as shows and parades), and services may have limited availability or may remain closed.
