If you make your way over to Wynwood looking for Miami’s first record listening bar, you’d have to know exactly where to find it or you might miss it.
That’s because it’s tucked away in an alley and there isn’t a name or a sign in sight! Just a lone black door. However, once you step in to see the low lighting and leather couches, you’d know you’re in the right place.
Inspired by the hidden listening rooms in Japan known as Jazz Kissa, you’ll walk into the cozy Dante’s HiFi where the soundtrack is just as important as the drink you’ll be sipping. The inviting spot brings a vibe and level of sophistication that Miami’s music scene hasn’t really seen before.
The room is lined with vinyls neatly arranged on the shelves behind the bar. There’s thousands on site from just about every genre from resident music director Rich Medina’s personal collection. The intimate bar and lounge opened its doors in 2021 and was actually founded by Rich, Sven Vogtland, Alan Drummond, Jourdan Binder and Arturo Nuñez.
On top of their wide music collection, Dante’s also serves cocktails like highball made with Japanese whiskey, as well as light bites. There is also beer, wine and other cocktails to choose from.
What can you expect while you’re there? Live entertainment and an authentic musical experience with in-house DJs taking turns spinning songs from the collection. Keep an eye out on their Instagram to see who’s spinning next!
While Dante’s HiFi is open to the public, there are membership opportunities available for exclusive events on certain nights. If you plan on paying a visit to Dante’s, you want to make a reservation to secure your spot. Click here to visit their website.
