South Florida residents woke up to slightly cooler temperatures today, offering just a glimpse of what’s to come with the first cold front of the season reported to take place this week.
That’s right, a cold front is set to sweep through the state, bringing cooler conditions and drier weather. But is it really time to break out the churros and hot chocolate? Not quite.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday’s high temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-80s and upper 70s with partly sunshine and breezy conditions. Overnight, we’ll see lows around 70 and in the upper 60s.
While this isn’t the type of cold front that’ll give us a taste of winter, this is still considerably cooler than the scorching hot temperatures we’ve been getting. At least in South Florida. Other parts of the state, such as the panhandle or Central Florida, will see temperatures plunge to the mid-upper 40s with highs in the 60s and 70s.
As the front pushes through, there will also be a break in humidity. Don’t cheer just yet, though! Our good old weather is forecasted to return to mid 80 by Friday and rain chances will rise, bringing the possibility of showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. King tides will also be possible due to the full super Hunter’s Moon on Thursday night.
