You’re going to want to bundle up this weekend — especially if you have plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve or attend the Orange Bowl — because temperatures are expected to plunge! A cold front moving through the lower latitudes of Florida will bring temperature drops to the upper 40s and low 50s into Saturday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting an overnight chill of 56 degrees for Miami on Saturday, and a high of 68 degrees during the day. You can definitely expect New Year’s Eve to be colder than last year.
In Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, lows in the upper 40s are possible.
Rain showers are anticipated overnight on Wednesday into Thursday, ending by the afternoon. The cold air will start working its way through the region on Friday.
New Year’s Day should be sunny, with a high near 72, as forecast by NWS. We can’t wait to start 2024 off with a true taste of winter!
