People around the globe have spoken and deemed one Florida beach the “Best of the Best” for 2026… and for a good reason!
In its annual Travelers’ Choice Awards, TripAdvisor revealed a list of the world’s best beaches based on millions of traveler reviews and ratings collected over a 12-month period. Amid exotic islands in Mexico and stunning lagoons in Greece, Florida’s Clearwater Beach made it into the top 20 at #17, highlighted for its “Gulf Coast perfection.”
“Clearwater Beach is a family-friendly beach with fine white sand, blue waters and spectacular sunsets,” TripAdvisor writes. “Get on a boat and take a cruise by the sea, enjoy the sun on the soft coast or stroll down the spacious walkway. There are showers and bathrooms, and parking is very easy.”
With its sugar-white sands and emerald Gulf waters, the scenic Florida destination captures the essence of a relaxed, coastal vibe with something to offer for everyone. Located on a barrier island just west of Tampa, the area is anchored by a winding pedestrian promenade known as Beach Walk, which is lined with palm trees, casual seafood restaurants and beach-y shops.
Its calm ocean makes it an ideal spot for jet-skiing, parasailing and paddleboarding. Additionally, it’s easy to book a dolphin-watching boat tour or deep-sea fishing charter from the Clearwater Municipal Marina on site.
While visiting, make sure to stop by Pier 60, a 1,080-foot-long fishing pier and park famous for its nightly Sunsets at Pier 60 festival. Starting two hours before the sun goes down, the area comes alive with street performers, local artisans and live music!
If you’re curious about who took the top spot on TripAdvisor’s list, that would go to one of Mexico’s most stunning reprieves, Isla Pasión, followed by Greece’s Elafonissi Beach at #2. Another Greece staple, Balos Lagoon, came in hot at #3, with Aruba’s wonderful Eagle Beach and the golden sands of Portugal’s Praia da Falésia rounding out the top 5.
