One simply cannot walk past the white facade of The Cat’s Meow Café without thinking of stopping by to admire the cute fur babies. Located right off Biscayne and 75th, this is a haven for those who miss being around felines and, of course, those who just can’t get enough of hanging out with them.
As a calming sanctuary for cats and cat lovers alike, you can expect to see dozens of cats of all ages scattered among toys, fuzzy pillows and cat climbers. Choose to order a small snack (they have vegan options) and beverage or go straight into adoring the four-legged darlings. They host events like painting sessions to create your own cat masterpiece and vinyasa cat-inspired yoga, giving you the chance to channel your inner zen with friendly felines. Click here to visit their website for upcoming events.
The Cat’s Meow Café may just be the future of adopting rescued cats. They partner with Miami-Dade Animal Services to provide abandoned or surrendered cats with an enriching environment until they find their fur-ever homes. Cat fans who stop by get to interact with several felines at once, allowing them to connect with all the unique personalities. If they fall in love with a cat (it’s impossible not to), they can adopt their new friend right there.
A reservation at the cat café lounge incudes an $18 fee for 1-hour full of petting, playing and cozying up with the cats. The rules can be found on their website and you should definitely check those before booking. For instance, you can’t run after, jump, or scream at the felines and the golden rule: don’t pick up any cats that are sleeping.
