Café La Trova has earned a spot among the 100 best bars in the world in the prestigious World’s 50 Best Bars list.
Looking for the next spot in which to grab some drinks on a night out? Well, we might have just found the place for you and its Little Havana’s Café La Trova. This awesome Cuban bar and restaurant has been recently voted as one of the best in the world earning itself a spot for the first time on the World’s 50 Best Bars’ extended list.
Although La Trova came in 70th in its first year on the coveted list, it’s worth mentioning this is Miami’s only bar to make it into the 2020 list. And while traveling to London to try the world’s number one bar, The Connaught, is off the table right now, we can still enjoy world-renown cocktails right here in the Magic now that La Trova is open for business again!
La Trova may look like your average Cuban restaurant from the outside, but once you walk inside you’ll find a beautifully decorated, upscale bar. Did you know local celeb Pitbull, Natti Natasha and Daddy Yankee filmed their “No lo trates” videoclip in La Trova? Yeah, the bar’s that cool.
On their menu, you’ll of course find award-winning cocktails by La Trova’s owner and famous mixologist Julio Cabrera. Options include the usual classics like mojitos and daiquiris as well as the house’s own concoctions with a Latin twist such as the award-winning “Buenavista” cocktail with Bombay Sapphire gin, cucumber, mint, elderflower liqueur, lime juice and sugar and one of Cabrera’s specials the “Bobby Burns” with Aberfeldy 12 year Single Malt Scotch Whisky, sweet vermouth, Benedictine and shortbread cookie.
To accompany these award-winning cocktails La Trova also has some incredible Cuban dishes by award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein.
Bernstein offers her own take on Cuban cuisine with dishes such as skirt steak Ropa Vieja, Lechon con Chicharrones and tapas like gambas al ajillo and ceviche. And yes, there’s croquetas!
To round it all off, La Trova also has live entertainment every night with authentic Trova musicians to compliment your dinner and drinks.
Of course, like many establishments around the city the restaurant has also new safety measures in place with tables widely spaced out and operates at reduced capacity to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus.
Café La Trova is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. and reservations are highly recommended. If you cannot manage to book your spot or prefer to enjoy La Trova’s excellent cocktails at home, the restaurant also has to-go cocktails and food on offer online for take away.
