While at a Miami Marlins game, Billy the Marlin is certainly a highlight. The friendly face can be seen bringing the energy from the field, launching T-shirts into stands, interacting with fans of all ages and engaging in playful antics between innings.
But does the word, um, sexy come to mind when thinking of Billy? Well, a hilarious new study by BetUS has found our very own Marlin mascot to be the 6th sexiest in all of baseball!
We’re not exactly sure why this study was done or who asked for it, but the sports betting company set out to rank the 15 most “crush-worthy” MLB mascots, with the blue heartthrob landing right behind Mrs. Met of the New York Mets. To determine what makes each so irresistibly charming, they looked at a mix of personality traits, job descriptions, social following and even search volume.
“From game-day charisma to facial symmetry worthy of a scouting report, these unsung heroes bring more than just skills to the field,” Andres Vargas, head content editor at BetUS, said in a release. “Whether it’s a sideline reporter with undeniable charm or a mascot whose personality lights up the stadium, these hidden gems are proof that attraction in the MLB goes far beyond the dugout.”
