If you’ve been waiting for a sign to plan your next weekend escape or give our northern neighbors a visit this fall, let this be it! Amtrak just dropped one of its best travel deals of the season.
For a limited time, riders can save up to 25% on select coach fares between Miami and major destinations along the East Coast and into the Midwest. The promotion covers the Floridian route, which connects the Magic City with Tampa and other Florida locations; Washington, D.C.; Savannah, Pittsburgh and Chicago (a whopping 47-hour trek).
It also includes the Silver Meteor route, which links to cities along Florida; Washington, D.C.; Savannah, Charleston and New York (lasting approximately 28 hours).
When to book and travel
Tickets for the fall deal must be purchased now through Wednesday, September 30. Eligible travel dates run from October 14 to December 17, 2026.
Additionally, the offer does not apply on the following blackout days: November 11, November 20-30, 2026.
Similar to other promotions, Amtrak notes that seating is limited and may not be available on every train, departure or travel date, so booking earlier gives travelers the best chance of finding the lowest fares. Changes are not permitted after booking, while cancellations made before departure carry a 50% cancellation fee.
If your travel plans take you beyond trains departing from Miami, the sale includes more than 20 routes nationwide, including the California Zephyr, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, Coast Starlight, Crescent, Empire Builder, Lake Shore Limited, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited and the Texas Eagle.
