It’s been a little over a year since Universal Epic Universe first opened its portals to guests, but it’s already thinking about its next big move. An all-new indoor coaster is headed to Dark Universe, one of the park’s themed lands dedicated to the Universal Classic Monsters.
It’s where guests find themselves in the gothic village known as Darkmoor among unearthly legends and monster experiments.

The new attraction is already under construction at the park, where it’ll occupy a space next to the award-winning dark ride Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. While a name hasn’t been announced, Universal says it will “immerse guests in an all-new story inspired by the iconic Universal Monsters franchise.”
The Orlando destination added that the opening date for the new coaster is planned for “the years ahead” and more information will be revealed in the near future.
More additions coming to Universal Orlando
The upcoming thrill ride is just one piece of the puzzle of the broader expansion Universal Orlando Resort is planning. Guests can look forward to the following:
- Reimagined Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse, opening later this year
