Famous for its gourmet, colorful and creative treats, Misha’s Cupcakes is saying goodbye at the end of the month after more than two decades of serving South Floridians.
Founder Misha Kuryla took to social media earlier this week to announce the closure of the beloved bakeshop’s remaining locations.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but after 21 years, Misha’s Cupcakes is signing off,” she said in a heartbreaking Instagram video thanking fans for celebrating their milestones with them over the years, whether it was a birthday or wedding.
“Even when there [were] hard days and all you guys needed was like a cupcake and a moment to yourself,” she continued. “Knowing that we could bring smiles to people’s lives and, in turn, you all have given me so many beautiful memories and supported by family, my team and made this dream possible for 21 years.”
A final sweet fix before bakery doors close
The announcement concluded with the fact that Misha’s Cupcakes will be available through the end of October at Clementine’s, which is located at 2714 Ponce de Leon Blvd in Coral Gables. It’s here where the brand continues its long-standing connection to the neighborhood where their first standalone shop was born.
“We’d love for you to stop by and have another cupcake,” Kuryla said. “I just want to thank you for being part of my life and letting us be part of yours.”
Founded in 2005, the bakeshop holds a distinction few can claim: it’s widely recognized as Miami’s best cupcakes and, to many, even Florida’s! Misha’s took home the “Gold” for Best Cupcakes in the 2024 Best of Miami-Dade awards, and was named by The Daily Meal in 2017 the absolute best cupcake bakery in the entire Sunshine State.
With flavor favorites like guava and cream cheese, coconut and Oreo cupcakes, Misha’s has become a local staple offering sweets in traditional storefronts, through wholesale groceries and even via automated vending machines.
What started as gifting her homemade cupcakes to friends and family, Kuryla opened her first kiosk in Dadeland Mall in 2007, which was quickly followed by her first standalone store in Coral Gables in 2008. By 2015, there were four additional locations across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
In addition to the remaining Clementine’s location, the brand delivers nationwide with Goldbelly. You can learn more about Misha’s on their website.
