As Independence Day in Miami approaches, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re celebrating this year. And with it being America’s 250th anniversary, Miami is pulling out all the stops when it comes to 4th of July festivities.
This includes the Bayfront Park Management Trust, which are gearing up for an all-day celebration known as 250 United. Hosted by Miami’s own DJ Irie, the lineup will be stacked with 2000s nostalgia, rock, reggae and plenty of local icons, from Ashanti and Ja Rule to The Fray and Shaggy.
Willy Chirino, 112 (Slim & Mike) and Orlando Mendez are also on the bill for the all-ages event.
Attendees can expect a long list of local food vendors, delicious cocktails, an aerial drone show and, of course, a fireworks display that actually lives up to the hype.
The evening display will light up over Biscayne Bay at the stroke of midnight, ringing in the country’s milestone 250th year. Before the grand finale of the fireworks, drones will illuminate the skyline in a way Bayfront has never seen before.
But that’s not all! Since July 4 happens to be the final day of the city’s official FIFA World Cup Fan Zone at Bayfront Park, attendees can catch a live broadcast of the semi-finals on a giant screen before the concert.
